WTF?

I drove all the over to class and no one was in the freakin parking lot. GRRRR. the teacher could have mentioned on Tuesday that we celebrate Holidays 4 days early!!!! Stupid....

A car called Scion

Well, January has brought a new sense of direction. And that direction has lead me to pack up my car and head to San Diego. A completely new and different San Diego that I had yet to experience. Unsure and not convinced by my decision, I left San Francisco. I have moved in with Scott, Laura, and baby Harlem. Yet, find myself mostly living out of the back of my car. Traveling between East County, North Clairmont, and Carlsbad. Someone once claimed, "home is where the heart is", and I had left mine in San Francisco. I had a firm grip on fear of the unknown when I left, and now?..... peace has replaced fear, and uncertainty is more friend than enemy.

Hawaii or Bust!

As Dan flies across the turbulent waters of the Pacific, sweat beads on his forehead. Now is his moment to make history for himself. Or least some more money for his wife. Dan is now calling the Island of Maui home. Can he really get a tan or just really burned? I guess that age old question will now be answered. This is a big break a long time coming. Dan gets to fly some of the best looking country out there, with a small crew, and high hours. Plus its MAUI. MAUI!!!!!! I mean, c'mon. How many peeps do u know that can say they live in San Francisco and Maui? That's what I thought. Dan now flies for Go! Airlines. and get this...he doesn't even have to wear a tie. Lights! Liquor! Gambling! Hookers! What more would you want? Welcome to The Fabulous Las Vegas!!!! Everyone's favorite vacation destination. Or at least Luke's. So much to do and see, the adult playground. But wait, there's more, for all those nature lovers out there, we got the backstage pass! That's right. If u tire of the same old playing the slots and losing but get free drinks game then why not take a break and hike Mt Charleston, or go climbing in Red Rock Canyon. You won't regret it. Not many people know, but in winter there is a ski resort on Mt Charleston, just 30 mins away. A simple but fun resort. Want to to see a good show? well don't pay full price, go to Tix4Tonite and get 50% off for that nights show. I recommend The Beatles show at the Aladdin. Also, the buffet there is real good. But for some ol skool gambling, forget the candy Strip--head downtown for some cheap tables and cheap girls. Like I said, the adult playground. Well, Vegas was great, but way too hot, in fact, one particular day I went out to get the mail and half way there thought "fuck this" and went back to the apartment. I didn't get the mail until November! Let alone a job. Which I did get and worked at Binion's as a cocktail waitress before working at Lucky's Tavern as a Bartender. www.luckystavern.com All the while Dan has changed over from Air Midworst to fly with the big boys at Mesa! Finally he gets to choose the line he wants and only has a 1 hour commute. Not too bad. Vegas really was a great time for us. http://www.lasvegasnevada.gov

Livin in The Rock

So we headed south, to Little Rock. Home to attacking cicadas and happy people with 2 teeth. Where warm temperatures means Satan's hot bed and biting flies. This is one of the worst cities we have ever lived in and yet, it provided us with numerous memories and countless friends. I worked at the airport in flight operations and learned first hand what goes on behind the scenes, and people trust me, you do NOT want to know. We went on a special romantic get-away to Petit Jean Mountain for an overnight camp trip. After setting up camp we made a small dinner and suddenly -THUNDER- we suffered in the tent for the rest of the night and next day as rain poured down on our site. our stuff that did not get washed away was soaked and eventually molded and was thrown away. During our time in the Rock we lost many an electrical device to the humidity including: desktop computer, dvd player, digital camcorder, stereo receiver, turntable, printer. That doesn't include the blankets, pillows, photographs, and many other items that had to be thrown out as well. Woooooo Pig Soooooie! http://www.littlerock.com/

As we continue on in our journey Dan has brought us home, to wonders we love in southern California. San Francisco, the city where anything is possible. We are so in love with this city. Dan goes out everyday and explores, the park, the beach, the city. So much to do and see and learn. New York/ LA

Ok here is where it just gets silly. Dan moves to New York. No, not NYC, but upstate New York. Massena, NY. Right on the Canadian border. I however, having my fill of rednecks and insects the size of shoes, headed back to Cali. I took up residence in Santa Monica, CA with my girl, Laura. You could say we were living the good life. Laura and I that is. Dan however, an adventure all his own. What can there be said for Massena. Well, beautiful country, freezing black ice winters, steamy hot summers, and your fill of pizza, subs, and wings. Sounds temping right? Many a day Dan spent watching for barges or ships to roll by on the great St. Lawrence river, there is even a castle out there somewhere. and possibly the new home for the Loch Ness monster. Or so I have heard. And if that isnt enough, well if you like your women with a little girth, then look no further. She can cook, clean, raise the kids, and hunt and skin your dinner for you all in the same day. Now thats a true woman. Shenandoah

Take me home....country roads...to the place..I belong...... ok so maybe not WEST Virgina, but hey regular Virgina is pretty close. Grottoes , Virginia to be exact. Now there is nothing like the sweet morning dew as the sun rises to touch the corn fields with a warm kiss. The farmers are up working the fields and the kids are on the bus off to school. Nothing but acres of sweet, lush green land in a town with one stoplight that always flashes yellow. Don't forget that sweet smell in the morning breeze......the local chicken farm carries it into town. yummy. And well if that doesn't burst yer bubble well then, after work we all just jump on our John Deere tractors and ride on down to the local 7-11 and hang with the town sheriff drinking The Beast. Now those are good times. Grottoes, Va population 2200. We lived in "low income" housing of 2195 people. The only one family that could afford it lived up the street in a 5 bedroom colonial. Lucky bastard. Yes, life in ol' Virginny was pretty sweet. That is until I had a medical emergency and the closest hospital was a 30 minute drive. That sucked, painfully. But hey, that's just a risk you have to take when living out in the country, small medical problems...could make it in on time...heart attacks, well better pick out a nice black suit. Suddenly winter was upon us and the Gods sent down not snowflakes but tiny perfect slivers of Heaven. Which provided us with many a day of fun and snowboarding. At Massanutten Ski Resort we plowed trails and burned calories, no man, woman, or child would stand in our way! Literally. No really, kids beware! Well, in Danny's way, since I never made it up the mountain....those lifts can kill a person! As the snow melted and spring arrived it time to move on. So where was next on our list, but the infamous cotton south. New Mexico

The beginning is here. New Mexico, where the sun blazes across the mesas, Native Americans dance for the rain god, and wild coyotes search for food for their young across the desert wasteland... or so we thought. The Sun does blaze, a burning 98 degrees of UVA rays designed to bake and kill. Native Americans singing in a drunken stupor as they emerge from the bar, and not coyotes but freakin stupid praire dogs everywhere just waiting to dig in the trash that lines the streets. Thus is the setting for our first home together.....Famington. A name all in itself. Farmington. My God, what have we gotten ourselves into. http://farmingtonnm.org/
